About Vinteum
Vinteum is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening open-source Bitcoin development through education, research, developer funding, and community building.
We operate in Brazil and Latin America, with a global reach, working with developers, researchers, universities, and organizations that contribute directly to Bitcoin and its critical infrastructure.
Our focus is long-term, with an emphasis on technical rigor and real impact.

Role Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Operations to act as the execution backbone of Vinteum.
This role is responsible for turning strategy into reality across all of our core activities: developer programs, ongoing education initiatives, fellowships, grants, events, and Casa21, our physical hub in São Paulo.
Vinteum exists to build and sustain the human infrastructure behind Bitcoin, identifying, training, funding, and connecting developers who contribute to the protocol and its ecosystem. This role ensures that this system actually works in practice.
You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure that everything we do runs smoothly, scales well, and maintains a high standard of quality, while preserving the flexibility and autonomy that define how we operate.
Vinteum is growing, but much of its operation is still informal and founder-driven. This role exists to bring structure, delegation, and reliability where needed, without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
This includes not only coordinating programs and initiatives, but also maintaining the environment and infrastructure that enable developers to do their best work, both online and in person.
This is not a corporate ops role. It’s closer to building and maintaining the engine of an organization that is constantly shipping, experimenting, and interacting with the Bitcoin open-source ecosystem.
At the same time, this role requires strong judgment to identify where better structure, processes, and organization are needed, especially as we grow. The goal is not to introduce bureaucracy, but to bring clarity and reliability to areas where lack of structure creates friction (e.g. payments, reporting, coordination), while keeping the rest of the organization flexible.
This role is based in São Paulo and includes regular in-person presence at Casa21 and Vinteum activities.
What you’ll own
1. Programs (BDL, Fellowships, Pipeline)
Own the operational side of the Bitcoin Dev Launchpad (BDL)
Coordinate cohorts end-to-end: applications, selection, onboarding, tracking
Ensure smooth progression from learning → contributions → fellowship → grants
Maintain visibility over participant performance, engagement, and outcomes
Support mentors and contributors without creating friction for upstream projects
Continuously improve program structure based on each cohort’s learnings
Support and coordinate Vinteum’s ongoing online developer engagement layer (Discord), including recurring sessions, study groups, and technical discussions with contributors across the ecosystem
Maintain consistency, quality, and continuity across all activities, ensuring they remain a core part of the developer pipeline, not just ad hoc initiatives
Coordinate Vinteum’s broader education layer beyond BDL, including recurring seminars, study programs, and long-term learning tracks
Work with developer advocates and education fellows to ensure ownership, consistency, and quality across the different programs
Structure these programs to be repeatable and scalable over time, without sacrificing depth
2. Grants & Fellowships
-
Manage the full lifecycle of fellowships and grants:
onboarding
contracts
payments
reporting
Keep close visibility on grantees’ progress and engagement
Ensure reporting is consistent, lightweight, and useful
Help maintain strong relationships with grantees and mentors
Coordinate with leadership on renewals, extensions, and transitions
3. Casa21 Operations (São Paulo Hub)
Own the day-to-day operations of Casa21 as a working hackerhouse and community hub
Ensure the space is functional, organized, and ready for daily use
Coordinate residents, guests, and visiting contributors
Manage logistics for short-term stays (residencies, retreats) and recurring use
-
Support ongoing activities in the space:
workshops
meetups
study groups
Coordinate infrastructure (internet, equipment, recording setup, etc.)
Continuously improve Casa21 as a productive environment, not just an event venue
4. Events, Ecosystem & Community Coordination
-
Own logistics and execution for:
technical retreats (Floresta, StratumV2, open-source hardware signers, fuzzing, etc.)
hackathons (SatsHack, Hack4Freedom)
internal gatherings
Support Vinteum’s involvement in Satsconf, São Paulo Bitcoin Week, and other ecosystem events (e.g. Bitcoin++, conferences, and partner events), including logistical and operational coordination where relevant
Coordinate travel, accommodation, schedules, and on-the-ground execution
-
Coordinate initiatives such as:
Bitcoin Dev Summit
Bitcoin Students Day across universities/cities
-
Support relationships with:
universities
professors
student groups
Coordinate Vinteum’s logistical and financial support for BitDevs communities across Brazil
Maintain relationships with local organizers while avoiding unnecessary centralization
Track activity, needs, and opportunities across different cities
5. Internal Operations
-
Build and maintain lightweight but reliable systems:
trackers
dashboards
documentation
Coordinate payments, budgeting visibility, and contractor management
Improve internal workflows without adding unnecessary overhead
Bring structure to areas that require reliability (e.g. payments, reporting, coordination)
6. Coordination & Execution
Act as the bridge between leadership, contributors, communications, and external partners
Identify bottlenecks early and resolve them
Keep priorities clear and execution focused
Ensure important work actually gets done
What we’re looking for
Strong operator with high ownership and autonomy
Comfortable operating in an environment with multiple parallel initiatives and evolving structure
Able to balance structure with flexibility (not over-process things)
Experience running programs, grants, or communities is a big plus
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working with long-term goals and outcomes, not just short-term execution
Interest in Bitcoin and open-source development (deep technical knowledge not required, but curiosity is)
What success looks like
Programs run smoothly and participants stay engaged
Fellows and grantees are productive and well-supported
Events feel high quality but not overproduced
Internal operations are reliable but lightweight
The team spends less time dealing with friction and more time building
Less dependence on leadership for day-to-day execution
Why this role matters
Vinteum is building a pipeline of Bitcoin developers and contributors across multiple layers, from education to long-term open-source work.
This only works if execution is strong.
This role ensures that the systems, processes, and coordination behind that pipeline hold together and scale as we grow.
Location & Work Setup
This role is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
We operate in a hybrid format, but this role requires regular in-person presence, including:
Spending time at Casa21, Vinteum’s hackerhouse in São Paulo
Participating in events, workshops, and community activities
Working on-site at least 1–2 times per week (near Congonhas airport)
In-person presence is important to absorb context, engage with the community, interact with developers, and capture ideas that don’t emerge in formal meetings.
